PingpileBeta

Early betaUptime and sitemap monitoring

Search Console won't tell you when your site goes down.Pingpile will.

A site that is down when Google comes crawling can slip out of search results, and Search Console only shows it days later, if at all. Pingpile checks every site in your Search Console around the clock and emails you the moment one goes down or a sitemap breaks.

  1. Sign in with Google or a code
  2. Connect Search Console, read-only
  3. Get an email when something breaks

That is the whole setup. Every verified property becomes a monitor and every submitted sitemap is checked. Not in Search Console? Add a site by its address instead.

  • Uptime checks
From every minute to once a day per site, with 90 days of history and a clear daily status bar.
  • Sitemaps that stay healthy
Each sitemap is fetched, validated against the protocol and counted. Set a minimum and get told when it drops below.
  • Told when it matters
An email when a site goes down or comes back, and when a sitemap breaks. Nothing else.
  • Read-only and private
Read-only access to Search Console, keys encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect any time.

This is an early beta. Everything can change: features, limits, pricing and the look of it. Data may be reset along the way, and Pingpile should not be your only monitoring yet.

Everything Pingpile does

All of it from the properties and sitemaps already in your Search Console, or from a site's address. Nothing to install.

Straight from Search Console

  • Sign in with Google and your verified properties become monitors
  • Sitemaps you submitted to Google are picked up automatically
  • Synced every hour: new sites and sitemaps appear on their own
  • Several Google accounts, merged into one list, grouped per account
  • Read-only access; properties you are not verified for are reported
  • Not in Search Console? Add a site by its address: uptime and sitemaps; its pages are checked once it is in your Search Console
  • Google's own sitemap status: last downloaded, errors, warnings, pending

Uptime

  • Checks from every minute to once a day, per site
  • Timeout of 5 to 30 seconds, follow redirects or not
  • Down after 2 failed checks in a row, so one blip is not an outage
  • Error pages served with 200 count as down: database errors, PHP fatal errors, suspended hosting, parked domains
  • An alert when the home page turns noindex or its canonical points to another site
  • Uptime for 24 hours, 7, 30 and 90 days, and response times
  • A daily status bar for the last 90 days
  • Incident log with start, end and duration
  • Test now, any time

Sitemaps

  • URL count on every fetch: how many entries the sitemap lists, with a 90-day chart
  • Minimum URL count: an alert when it drops below, say, 100
  • What changed since the last fetch: URLs added and removed
  • Every URL with its last-modified date and status, searchable
  • Validated against the sitemaps.org protocol: an HTML page instead of XML, truncated files, entries without a URL, unescaped &, relative or off-site URLs, duplicates, bad or future dates, the 50,000 URL and 50 MB limits
  • Sitemap indexes followed (up to 50 child sitemaps), gzipped sitemaps, and image and video extensions handled correctly
  • A rolling sample of the pages themselves checked for 404s and server errors
  • Fetched every 1 to 24 hours, per sitemap (every 6 hours or less often on the free plan)

Alerts

  • Email when a site goes down, and again when it is back
  • Email when a sitemap breaks, drops below its minimum, or recovers
  • One email per change, not one per check
  • Opt-in, and you can switch it off any time

In your control

  • Switch any site or sitemap off and on; history is kept
  • A quick menu on every site and sitemap: pause, test, interval in one click
  • Fold sites and whole Google accounts down to one line
  • Works on your phone, in light and dark mode
  • Connect Claude or another AI assistant over MCP: it can read and change what you can here, except adding sites

Private by design

  • Read-only Search Console access, nothing is ever changed there
  • Google keys encrypted at rest; disconnecting revokes them at Google
  • Data stored in the EU
  • No ad trackers, no tracking cookies; mail only to you
On the way (not there yet): response-time charts per site, a daily digest of broken pages, Slack and webhook alerts, checks from more than one location, TLS certificate expiry, indexing status from Google's URL Inspection, and public status pages.

How checks are counted

Questions

What is Pingpile?

Pingpile is an uptime and sitemap monitor for the sites in your Google Search Console. Sign in with Google and every verified property becomes a monitor, every submitted sitemap is checked, and you get an email when a site goes down or a sitemap breaks.

How often are my sites checked?

From every minute to once a day per site. The free plan has 1,200 checks a day, spread over all your sites: enough for 12 sites every 15 minutes or 50 every hour. Sites on automatic share the budget, never more often than every 5 minutes; a site can also have a fixed interval.

When is a site down?

After two failed checks in a row, so one blip is not an outage. A check fails on a timeout, an HTTP error, or an error page served as if it were fine, such as a database error, a PHP fatal error, suspended hosting or a parked domain. Pingpile also warns when the home page turns noindex or its canonical points to another site.

What does Pingpile check in my sitemaps?

It fetches each sitemap, validates it against the sitemaps.org protocol, counts its URLs, shows which URLs were added or removed, and alerts when the count drops below a minimum you set. On the free plan sitemaps are fetched every 6 hours, with a unit as often as every hour. For sites in your Search Console it also checks a rolling sample of the listed pages for errors.

Does Pingpile change anything in Search Console?

No. It asks Google for read-only access (webmasters.readonly) and only reads the list of your properties and their sitemaps. Its Google keys are stored encrypted, and disconnecting revokes them at Google.

Can I monitor a site that is not in Search Console?

Yes. Add it by its address: it gets uptime checks and its sitemaps are found in its robots.txt. Checking the pages listed in its sitemaps needs proof that the site is yours, which adding it to Search Console gives.

What does it cost?

It is free for 1,200 checks a day, with no limit on the number of sites. A paid unit adds 14,400 checks a day for €10; it belongs to the workspace and lasts one year from the day it is bought. Paid units come when the beta ends.

Can my team share the sites?

Yes. A workspace holds the sites, the plan and the alerts, and you invite colleagues to it by email. Everyone can do everything with the sites; the owner pays and is the only one who can remove members or close the workspace.

Does it work with AI assistants?

Yes. Pingpile is an MCP server: connect Claude or another assistant and ask it whether anything is down, read sitemap problems, check a site now or change intervals.

Where is my data stored?

On Cloudflare, with the database in the EU. Alert and sign-in emails are sent through Resend. No ad trackers and no tracking cookies.
